Medical departments
The teams of (currently) four medical departments and ten specialized outpatient clinics are directly responsible for providing medical care to our patients – either in the inpatient sector or in the outpatient sector. In the Westerstede hospital center we closely cooperate with the Ammerland Hospital in several clinical sectors.
Inpatient departments
In cooperation with the internal medicine department of the Ammerland Hospital, we cover the entire range of diagnostic and therapy options in the specialty of internal medicine.
In cooperation with the orthopedics and accident surgery department, our neurosurgery department constitutes the traumatology center of the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital.
Our orthopedics and accident surgery department provides 24-hour accident surgery services and covers the entire range of surgical and conservative orthopedic treatment, to include all types of injury of the locomotor system, as well as child orthopedics.
Specialized outpatient clinics
Range of medical services provided by the anesthesia and intensive medicine department of the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital
Our outpatient ophthalmology clinic covers the entire range of outpatient diagnosis and therapy of conservative ophthalmology of the front and the rear eye sections.
Our range of services includes outpatient and inpatient treatment as well as expert opinions on issues of military medicine, to include diving medicine and aviation medicine.
Our dermatology specialist service section covers the entire range of outpatient services of this specialty, ranging from modern surgical and laser treatment methods to classical therapy methods – such as external therapies, baths and UV radiation treatment – to photodynamic therapy.
Our field of work includes the diagnostics and therapy of all psychiatric and psychosomatic disorders.
In cooperation with the Ammerland Hospital, our radiology department covers the entire range of medical services in the field of modern radiological imaging and minimum invasive (interventional) radiological therapy.
While the main focus is on implantology, our specialized dentistry center covers the entire range of treatment in the field of dentistry and oral surgery.
Our outpatient pain clinic offer´s the entire range of modern pain treatment methods, which also includes individually adjusted medication therapy, stimulation methods, blocking methods and catheter applications.
