Since 30 June 2008, the newly established Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital and the Ammerland Hospital cooperate in the modern Westerstede hospital center. The joint operation of infrastructure, operating theaters and medical equipment allows to offer soldiers and civilians a medical treatment with the most modern operating methods on an area of nearly 10,000 square meters.
We, the staff of the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital, feel obliged to help all those who are ill and who put their trust in us.
The cooperation agreement concluded between the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital and the Ammerland Hospital is the first of its kind involving a Bundeswehr medical facility.
400 civilian and military staff members work hand in hand in our house to provide care for our patients around the clock.

After serving the Bad Zwischenahn garrison for about 50 years, the Bundeswehr hospital was relocated to Westerstede in mid-2008.
