Data privacy
Data privacy at the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital is based upon the Federal Data Privacy Act and applicable executive provisions.
Trust and security
For us, data privacy means first of all: privacy of patient data. Therefore, any data collected about you and your relatives as well as about your clinical picture and the progress of your recovery are subject of data privacy and will be treated in accordance with data privacy regulations. The same applies to data which we pass on to the central medical register for evaluation purposes.
Paperless hospital
When walking around in our hospital, you will notice that there are hardly any files, medical findings or reports committed to paper. This is because together with the Ammerland Hospital we work as a paperless hospital center, that is, any patient data required for diagnosis, treatment and therapy will be administered electronically. Not only does this make our administrative work easier, but it is mainly an advantage for you, as your data may be accessed from any work station in the hospital. We guarantee you that our systems are highly secure and that only authorized personnel have access to your data. Moreover, IT security is laid down in detail in our data privacy concept.
Data privacy concept
An institution-specific data privacy concept was established for the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital to ensure data privacy and to set out the principles of data privacy and privacy rules for patient data. This concept governs the documentation of patient data based on legally prescribed record and data retention limits and lays down our policy on third party information. All staff members of the Westerstede Bundeswehr Hospital are obliged to adhere to the provisions of the Federal Data Privacy Act, pertinent executive provisions, and the rules established in the data privacy concept of our hospital.
